Can One Ryback Beat Super Cena?

After John Cena has gotten through a huge feud with The Rock, what can really be a believable threat for him? Where do you go after something like that? The WWE's answer? Ryback. There are two ways this can go.

First, this can go down the road of the typical centerpiece feud. John Cena eventually overcomes Ryback and Ryback falls back to the midcard. If that is what they are thinking of doing, is Ryback really a credible enough threat? They really should have kept Mark Henry in this feud. Cena trying to overcome Ryback is one thing, but having Mark Henry involved in there would have been so much more. That is a real threat to overcome. It's not like John Cena actually pinned Mark Henry or made him tap in their match a few weeks ago. After that triple threat, the WWE could then branch off into a Ryback heel turn and singles feud with Cena, if they really wanted to. That could be a good way to keep things interesting for a few months.

The second way things can go, what if they are actually trying to develop Ryback to be a star? What if they are using Cena to help develop him? When was the last time Cena really helped to develop someone who became a big star? His feud with Edge definitely helped to raise Edge's credibility. Does the WWE really intend to develop Ryback to be a top star? Or is this just another situation of developing an obstacle for Cena to overcome? It might all come down to how well Ryback does. If they were really just looking for a threat for Cena to overcome, they could have done more than just one Ryback.

Mark Henry may not be the third element in this feud, but The Shield is. But whose side are they on? Their own side. They are against both Cena and Ryback. That makes this feud more interesting. A simple title feud between Cena and Ryback may have been boring, even with Ryback's sudden heel turn. This kind of development also makes me wonder whether or not they are trying to develop Ryback to be more than just fodder for Cena. This is not just a feud about developing a monster for Cena to overcome. What becomes of Ryback after Cena will be very interesting.
