Burning The Tag Division Down

The Prime Time Players looked like they were going to get the shot against Kofi Kingston and R-Truth. On Raw this week, the random pairing of Daniel Bryan and Kane knocked them off to get the title shot.

This was the kind of thing I did not want to see. Both of these guys are currently upper-midcarders. They are former World Champions who are not currently in the major spotlight. They have been involved in a storyline for a few weeks now, and have been feuding for a long time prior to that. The WWE takes two guys who can do just fine with singles pushes and teams them together. What does that mean for the revival of the tag division? The Prime Time Players could not knock off Kane and Bryan, so what hope do the teams with less credibility than that have?

I am jumping the gun. Kane and Daniel Bryan have not won the titles, yet. There is a chance that Kofi Kingston and R-Truth can retain through Kane and Daniel Bryan not getting along, but I think now is really the time where they are going to evolve the storyline beyond that. Time for the awkward couple to hold the tag titles. That is my prediction for what will eventually happen.

Now, I'll jump back to my previous point. The WWE had spent some time developing the credibility of various tag teams. That was when they were going after Kofi Kingston and R-Truth. Kane, without even bringing in Daniel Bryan, could squash The Usos or The Colons by himself. He is that credible. Throw in Daniel Bryan, you have a team with a lot more credibility than the current Tag Team Champions. They will easily overshadow the other teams. And the revival will be done.
