Your New United States Champion: Sheamus

Dean Ambrose held the United States Championship for almost a year. And for a majority of that year, the title was pretty much irrelevant. He didn't need it. And with his feud against The Authority, it was only a matter of time before they screwed him out of the title. They did come up with a good way to screw him out of it. He had to defend it in a battle royal. He could not overcome those odds.

Sheamus won the title. He held it before. And he won it cleanly. That does not mean the WWE will not develop him to be a heel. Don't expect a big feud between Sheamus and Dean Ambrose right now. The Shield is still busy with Evolution. Where does that leave Sheamus? Batista will likely eventually take time off. Would having Sheamus join the group be a good move? Put him over as a Triple H guy. Until then, there are a lot of guys the WWE can have Sheamus feud against, regardless of whether they want him as heel or face. I just can't think of whom they would be willing to push against him.

Is giving it to Sheamus a bad choice? He has been lost in the shuffle for a while. I am not going to complain about him winning it. The crowd probably would have loved it for Dolph Ziggler to win it. The WWE might want to think about giving him a good midcard push again. Until all that plays out, I am not complaining about recent developments.
