How Goes Things For Rusev?

Rusev and Lana have been doing their act for a few weeks now. For the most part, Rusev is still stuck crushing jobbers. How much longer until legitimate feuds come around?

The interesting thing with Rusev has been his character development. He obviously has a gimmick, but I feel the WWE has done some work developing his character more. You have the whole Putin thing. And Lana is a great manager for him. You can essentially have a Russian takeover with Rusev and Lana. Of course, they are not going in any real storyline direction with him. That is a problem for many midcarders. They have interesting gimmicks, but no real storylines to utilize those gimmicks.

I could picture a feud between John Cena and Rusev. Two things are stopping it from happening. First, Cena is still tied up with Bray Wyatt. Second, Rusev does not have that credibility to deserve this feud. He needs to go over a few guys higher up the card in real feuds. While Cena is out of the title picture, a feud with Rusev would have been good. And I actually would have had it done for the next month or so. Right now, they should have been building up to the finish of Cena vs. Wyatt. At the same time, Rusev could feud against someone like Big Show or Mark Henry. Cena and Rusev win their feuds, the whole Russian thing continues, and Cena collides with Rusev. USA vs. Russia. If fans are still split on Cena in that feud, there is pretty much no hope for him. Cena would win the feud, of course, but it gives him something else to do outside the title picture. And his feud with Wyatt is getting stale. They might still get there in the future, but I think now would have been a good time to have done it. Stop wasting time with Rusev.
