Although Kane seems to be going after anyone he feels may have wanted to take out The Undertaker, that does not make him a heel. He is not fully face either. Tweener. Kane loves being tweener.
A PPV is this Sunday. Kane may not have a match, but he has a rich storyline that I am sure they will have to develop in some way. The NXT storyline seems to be focused mainly on Raw right now, which is good in a way. Things balance out. Smackdown has this thing with Kane. Could you imagine what would have been happening if Taker was not injured? You would probably see a basic title feud with Taker in Rey Mysterio's spot, not that Taker is not a worthy draw. Kane would probably be off jobbing to Vance Archer. Things are a lot more interesting like this. The WWE took a bad break and made something great out of it. For that, I give them credit.
The fact that Kane is a tweener means you do not know exactly who he may target next. Neither faces nor heels are safe. Will he pull an NXT and target commentators and ring crew next? Will he go as extreme as the NXT extremists? The WWE can continue to push Kane as a tweener up to the point of Taker's return. At that point, the plot will really have to be revealed further. I am thinking the obvious option is for Kane to fully turn heel again. Taker and Kane have not had a feud in years. They can get a good 2 or 3 PPV matches out of this between the two, including at least one gimmick match. Undertaker does have that DVD out, right? Might be too late to hype it by the time he returns, but they can always work on content for the next DVD. Until then, Kane keeps things interesting for the moment.
