The Great Khali Returns

Jinder Mahal did indeed retain the WWE Championship against Randy Orton at Battleground. And he did it thanks to The Great Khali.

I have said for a while now that the WWE should stop bringing back people. There are various reasons why. First, it costs money to pay all these people. A lot of fans are unhappy with certain cuts that have been happening recently. Some of those cuts are due to budget issues. There hasn't been mass releases this year, however. Second, the WWE has so many workers already and can't do a lot of them justice. Instead of spending time properly building stars and utilizing talent right, they just look for easy answers by bringing in all these people. Lastly, it doesn't do anything in the long run. After the initial buzz, the WWE just goes back to fumbling around. Ratings continue to decline. Fans are not consistently energized. The company finds themselves in these situations where they need to cut costs. Bringing in all these people just doesn't solve the issue, so why rely so heavily on this? Stop it.

Bringing back The Great Khali is just scraping the bottom of the barrel and shows the WWE has no solid direction right now. For a while, it looked like they were going in the direction of treating wrestling with more respect. You had the women's revolution. You had the return of the cruiserweight division. AJ Styles. Nakamura. A lot of guys from NXT. Roman Reigns has not held a World title in a year. But then the WWE does stupid stuff, like all the crap with James Ellsworth. The Great Khali returning just fits in with that garbage. He is not a great wrestler. Of all the people to bring back, not him. You have already had the return of Mickie James, Kurt Angle, and The Hardys this year, among some others. But these names I just mentioned are at least known for being good in-ring workers. Even if age has slowed some of them down, they are still known by wrestling fans for being good in the ring. The Great Khali is not. If the WWE is going to bring people back, they have to know what they want to be and try to stick to that identity. That doesn't mean they should never sign anyone that goes against that identity, but don't make it a habit. And don't sign someone as terrible as The Great Khali.

It doesn't matter how long he is back for. He should not get too physical at all. He obviously will. He cannot attack Randy Orton and think nothing more will come of it. Some people have talked about the idea of The Great Khali being Jinder Mahal's bodyguard. On paper, it sounds nice. But when you take into account the WWE's budget issues, all the other workers being misused, these returns not helping, and The Great Khali just not being great, it isn't a good idea in reality.

Previewing The Battleground 2017 Men's Matches

It is sometimes amazing how the WWE can hype a crappy kickoff match like it is something special on their website. Tye Dillinger faces Aiden English. I don't care. Dillinger wins.

Climbing the ladder of relevance, Mike Kanellis vs. Sami Zayn. This is just a rematch. Nothing too special. But this is another match I just don't care about. The gimmick Mike and Maria have might have some potential, but boring feuds against a midcard jobber like Zayn won't bring that out. I will say Mike Kanellis wins.

Baron Corbin faces Shinsuke Nakamura. The fact that Corbin has the briefcase means nothing. The WWE has a history of having the person with the briefcase lose a lot. On the other hand, the WWE has a recent history of overpushing people they are grooming to be main-eventers, like Jinder Mahal. But I don't think that happens at the expense of Nakamura this Sunday. He wins.

New Day get another title shot against The Usos. The tag divisions are just so terrible on both shows. There probably won't be a Twitter movement to turn things around. The WWE might as well let New Day win the titles. If The Usos do retain, who is left to take the titles off them? They could go back to Tyler Breeze and Fandango. They have been gaining momentum. But New Day will likely get a reign before them.

Kevin Owens tries to win back the United States Championship from AJ Styles. No reason for Styles to drop the title so soon. That is, no GOOD reason to do it. The WWE might do it if they want a lame excuse to prolong this feud. Just end it either here or Summerslam. Create some fresh feuds with these midcarders many people, including myself, don't care about.

John Cena takes on Rusev in a Flag match. I'll give them credit for a gimmick match. But these two? Again? They feuded with each other before. The rivalry just isn't fresh. I am going to tell you what I would have done with both guys a little later. As for this match, Cena wins.

And inside the Punjabi Prison, Jinder Mahal defends the WWE Championship once again against Randy Orton. This feud should have been over already. And it just wasn't heated enough to deserve this gimmick match. Some people are speculating The Great Khali will return to help Mahal. We'll see. If nothing else, this match should give Jinder Mahal further credibility. He should be retaining.

How would I have done things with the last two matches I just talked about? Switch the opponents around. Jinder Mahal could have been entering a feud against John Cena. It could have been the same pro-USA feud you have in Rusev/Cena. Meanwhile, Rusev feuds with Orton. That is a fresh feud. These two have never feuded. Rusev was wanting a title match a couple months ago. Just have Randy Orton go out there after losing to Jinder Mahal at the previous Smackdown PPV and start talking about wanting another shot. Instead of getting it, however, Rusev shows up to continue his angle of wanting a title shot. Those two then feud. If the WWE wanted to put a title opportunity on the line, fine. It would have taken things in a fresh direction and not messed up the storylines that were going on too much.

Previewing The Battleground 2017 Women's Match

 

There just comes a point where you get sick of complaining about the same thing. I have frequently criticized Smackdown for having too many multi-woman matches at PPVs. They fail to properly develop good personal feuds a lot of the time, especially for the big PPVs since the brand split came back. Recently, there have been a couple Smackdown PPVs in a row to feature multi-women matches.

I saw a dirtsheet report in the past week mention that the WWE is doing a ton of multi-person matches because it is just convenient for the writers and they believe it gives everyone heat with everyone else, or something along those lines. Did you really need a dirtsheet report to know the writers were being lazy? Even then, I would not say it is that bad. Most of the PPV main events are still singles matches. Even other title matches outside the main event are mostly singles matches. It is a little annoying how they frequently toss everyone together for the sake of finding #1 contenders, but even that isn't done all the time. But this issue with the Smackdown women's division is really annoying.

Battleground will not be anything new. Five women compete to find out who faces Naomi at Summerslam. If there is any silver lining, it is that this match will lead to a singles match at a big PPV. Even then, that does not kill the bad habit. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte vs. Lana vs. Natalya vs. Tamina. I don't think there are any fresh, smooth options here.

Naomi is a face, so it might make you wonder if they would really let Becky Lynch or Charlotte win. Would a face vs. face feud really be interesting? Would they turn someone heel just for the sake of this feud? Even then, you have a heel, Carmella, looming with the briefcase. Neither Becky nor Charlotte would make for a smooth feud.

Would Natalya vs. Naomi be considered a fresh feud? Natalya is not really fresh. She does not have much attention on her, creatively. I just feel like the other women seem to have more going than her.

Normally, I would say Tamina is Tamina. But the WWE has decided to give her a storyline. This is another example of a person that has not earned something getting something. This angle involves Tamina training Lana. If there was not a women's revolution going on and the writing was better, the story to tell would be that Tamina successfully trains Lana to finally beat Naomi for the title. After that, Tamina could want a title shot. Lana refuses. And a feud happens between the two, with Tamina going face. But how likely is it that Lana wins this? And Tamina is not worthy of getting a title shot at Summerslam.

Who wins? I think it comes down to the fact that this is Summerslam, one of the biggest PPVs of the year. Charlotte has not been pushed well since coming to Smackdown, but she has the most title credibility in this match. The WWE would likely give her the push. As for the awkwardness of face vs. face, the WWE will likely have Carmella cash in on Naomi prior to Summerslam, possibly even this Sunday, and the Summerslam match becomes a triple threat. And Smackdown continues its streak of multi-woman matches.

Previewing The Shield Triple Threat At Battleground 2016 & Brief Brand Split Thoughts

Wrestling fans have been dreaming about a triple threat between the former members of The Shield for years now. They are getting it at Battleground. Dean Ambrose is the WWE Champion. Both Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins have held the title a few times already. Some fans are upset that this big match is happening on such a minor PPV. Regardless of the brand split, regardless of injuries, regardless of suspensions, and regardless of whatever else, I would not be surprised to see this match again in the future. Until then, let's look at Battleground.

Let me start with Seth Rollins. A year ago, I would say that Seth Rollins had not broken out on his own. He was a weasel. He has looked better since his return this year. I don't mean his physique. I mean his character. He seems more like his own guy and more like a true top star. He doesn't have an A+ connection with the fans, and I wouldn't say he has surpassed the likes of Edge and CM Punk, but he is better than he was a year ago. Even if he is going back to be allies with Stephanie McMahon, I think his character won't be damaged too much by that. If only he would drop the Pedigree as his finisher. He isn't Triple H's son. Triple H didn't train him. A guy as talented as Rollins should be able to come up with some finisher the WWE would allow.

What can you say about Roman Reigns? His suspension is recently up. Fans were throwing a party for it on Twitter. But don't expect him to get a positive response this Sunday. More importantly than his crowd reaction, is his time at the top over already? He wasn't the top draft pick for either Shane or Stephanie. I don't think you should read too much into that. I have seen someone shake his head at Natalya being picked before Cesaro, Sheamus, and certain others. I wouldn't expect her to be featured too much better than those guys. Moreover, the recent drug issues with Brock Lesnar and the WWE's reaction to it might indicate that they won't take away the centerpiece spot from Reigns. A guy they treat even more godly than Reigns is getting negative attention for the same kind of thing and they are still promoting him and look like they will feature him as well as they did before. Drafting a part-timer? Was it worth it? Anyway, I just do not think this is the end of Roman Reigns at the top.

Dean Ambrose is holding the title and had two title defenses in one week prior to Battleground. Is that a sign that it is time for him to lose? He seems to just be a transitional champion. His title reign has been better than Daniel Bryan's infamous first run with the WWE Championship. If the WWE had given him this kind of run Dean Ambrose is getting now, I don't think fans would have gotten so upset back then. They could have gotten away with not promoting him up to pushing him as an A player.

Which of these three guys wins this Sunday? The brand split does not need to be that big of a factor. The WWE has not laid down any solid rules when it comes to the World Championship situation and they may not even know what they want. If they want one title defended on both shows, they can hand it to anyone. If they want two titles, just give the title to anyone in the match, then do something to decide who the other Champion would be. None of these men absolutely needs to win the title to help the title situation. At certain times during the previous brand split era, there were sometimes some messy title situations where it just seemed obvious the WWE only had one option. This is not one of those situations. This should come down to feud development. What is the best booking decision for the WWE to run with the main title feud that they want? I would say they want to run with Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins, two guys that happen to be on the same brand. But they won't just hand the title back to Roman Reigns. It has nothing to do with the suspension. Part of the fun is making it a struggle to overcome your foe. Rollins can win it at Battleground and drop it at Summerslam or after that.

Onto the brand split. A lot of things happened this week in regard to that, but I was too busy talking about Battleground to say anything on that. I'll just bring up a few topics.

First, you have the decision to have General Managers under Shane and Stephanie. Is it necessary? I think it is a good move. Take advantage of some popular/legendary non-wrestlers associated with the WWE. It also makes this feel like a real sports organization. Sports teams have a hierarchy. You have your owner(s). He will have his executives around him, including GMs. You have a head coach and his coaching staff. And then you have players, including possible team captains and those players that are leaders even without an official title. I like what the WWE has chosen to do.

Shane McMahon picked Daniel Bryan. Good choice. If not him, I would have gone with Sting. Both of them were never utilized to their full potential in the WWE, and injuries suffered last year really hurt their careers. But they can still be useful in non-wrestling matters. Daniel Bryan is getting something big to do. Hopefully, Sting might one day get a brief run as GM.

Stephanie McMahon picked Mick Foley. Interesting choice. A heel picks a lovable face. It can have some interesting storyline value down the line. It is more likely you see tension between these two before you see serious tension between Shane and Daniel Bryan.

Overall, I see fans complaining that Smackdown got the short end of the stick in the draft. I don't see it like that. I brought up that Raw is at a disadvantage because it has to go head-to-head against Monday Night Football soon. Being live and being its own brand on a night with no football, Smackdown is going to see an improvement from what it was getting in the ratings the last few years. It had a higher viewership than Raw this week. I don't think it will be the last time that happens before the year ends.

I wouldn't have even given Smackdown John Cena. I understand it has some storyline value with how AJ Styles is also there, without The Club. If that wasn't an issue, keep Cena on Raw and send Cesaro or Sami Zayn to Smackdown. Ratings aside, some fans bring up how Cena doesn't regularly work house shows anymore. Who will draw for Smackdown? They will just have to create stars on Smackdown. They might take a hit until then, but the brand split should be an opportunity to build new stars, anyway.

All things considered, I do not think the Smackdown roster is that terrible when it comes to what the WWE needs to do to draw. They have some level of star power and can make stars out of guys that may be loved by wrestling fans, but still need some work to break out. AJ Styles falls in that category, whether smarks want to admit it or not. Don't forget that the WWE will also bring back some workers from the past. Jinder Mahal could be the face of Smackdown and it would still draw more viewers than it has in the last few years. I don't see anything wrong if the WWE wanted to buff up Raw a bit with the draft. They could have shafted Smackdown even worse than they did.

Previewing The Battleground 2016 Undercard

Recently, the WWE has shown that they will go with certain things that wrestling fans might appreciate, but the general audience may not be able to. For the most part, I don't think they should do that. The feud between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn is a rare exception I am willing to make. They just have a heated rivalry and a chemistry. You pretty much have to add another chapter to their story on the main roster. The brawls and interactions can get that general audience interested.

Problem is, this match for Battleground seems like a disappointment. I said that Natalya vs. Becky Lynch might have deserved some kind of stipulation, and I will say the same thing for Owens vs. Zayn. How can it not have a stipulation? They are treating this like it is the final battle between the two. It won't be, but how can you not add to the match to make it feel like a bigger deal? Last Man Standing? I Quit? You don't need the Extreme Rules PPV to have these matches. As for the winner, I feel this can go either way, but I will say Sami Zayn.

The brand split may have messed up The Wyatts. Nevertheless, they still have New Day at Battleground. Tag titles are not on the line. People complained last year when the WWE did not have Nikki Bella defend the title at some PPVs, saying they just wanted to have her walk her way to the record for longest run with the Diva's Championship. I don't see anyone complaining about New Day not having to defend the titles here. I'm sure they are out there, I just don't see them. As for this feud, I think it has been rather disappointing so far. There is a storyline with some potential. But the fact that the tag titles are wasted here and the WWE arguably failed to beat TNA at their own game with that segment recently just hurts my interest in it. It annoys me more than it entertains me. Bray Wyatt needs wins more at this point than New Day, especially when their tag titles are not on the line. Wyatts win.

Darren Young gets a title shot against The Miz. These two were drafted to different shows. It seems this feud will end at Battleground. You might say that Miz obviously retains to keep the Intercontinental Championship on Smackdown, but the WWE could have Darren Young and Zack Ryder win their respective matches, switching what shows the United States and Intercontinental Championships are on. Not likely. Miz retains, but what happens to Darren's push after? I am not going to say he started at the top, but this push pretty much started as high as anyone would have expected him to go. Will he be pushed properly in the midcard? Or become a jobber? That would be a waste of Bob Backlund. Will Backlund even last the year in the WWE?

Rusev defends the United States Championship against Zack Ryder. I already said it is unlikely the two midcard titles switch shows by having two lower-midcarders win them on the same night. And Ryder won't beat Rusev just to bring the title over to Smackdown. I can picture Ryder losing this and going back after The Miz and the Intercontinental Championship.

John Cena and Enzo & Cass vs. The Club. AJ Styles will not have his buddies much longer due to the draft. But this match will still happen. Either Anderson and Gallows will likely eat the pin in this match. Face team wins.

What happens to the feud between Cena and Styles after that? Now the playing field is cleared up. Enzo & Cass are not on Smackdown with Cena and Styles. Anderson and Gallows aren't there, either. It will just be Cena vs. Styles. That might make Summerslam their final encounter.

Previewing Battleground 2016 Women's Matches

It is one of those occasions where a PPV will have two women's matches. Despite that, the Women's Championship will not be on the line for the second PPV in a row.

First, Natalya faces Becky Lynch. It is a decent secondary feud. Could be a lot better. The WWE has tried to make it like the story here is that all of Becky's friends turn on her. Not much to buy into here. Just seems like a lame story.

To make this feud mean more, I wouldn't have minded them making this some kind of gimmick match. No DQ? Falls Count Anywhere? Natalya has been brutalizing Becky for a while now. You want to sell this as a heated feud? Add something more to the match. Right now, this just feels like a match you would get on a Raw or Smackdown. And I don't think it will continue all the way to Summerslam. If it does, it will likely be on the pre-show. 

Who wins? It just seems obvious Becky Lynch should win. She is the fresher talent of the two. It is obvious by now Natalya is not going anywhere. She has dominated the feud against Becky. It just seems like Becky is winning this Sunday.

Onto the tag match. Charlotte and Dana Brooke vs. Sasha Banks and a partner of her choice. Let me start by talking about the WWE's decision not to have the title defended at Battleground. I am not a believer that a title has to be defended every PPV. I wouldn't even throw a fit if the WWE gave the Champion a rare night off to give the spotlight to two other women that have something else great going on. But this is the second PPV in a row that Charlotte is in a tag match and the title is not being defended. I am sure the WWE won't make too much of a habit out of this, but this new era for the women's division hasn't been working out as well as many fans would hope.

How about the decision to make Sasha get a partner to face Charlotte and Dana? That angle had some potential. They could have legitimately have sold it as no one wanting to team with Sasha, either because they don't want to cross Charlotte and Dana or women on the roster have not fully grown to trust Sasha after being a heel as long as she was. Problem is, the WWE had Becky Lynch team with Sasha on Raw this week to face Charlotte and Dana. Becky obviously won't be teaming with her on Sunday, but it kind of kills the potential of this angle by showing other women are willing to face Charlotte and Dana and tag with Sasha.

The only thing this angle still has going for it is the mystery element. Who will the partner be? Looking around, the top three options I see fans bringing up are Paige, Nikki Bella, and Bayley. The WWE going with Paige is not likely. There is no real impact there.

How about Nikki Bella? I have said before that she has not officially retired and could be coming back. She is not the partner Sasha Banks would pick if she had the power to pick her own partner, but the WWE might pick Nikki to get her back in the picture. And if she is back in the picture, it won't be as a jobber.

Bayley seems like the likely option. NXT will be represented in the draft on Smackdown tonight. Bayley and Sasha have a history. Wrestling fans would love to see her. But they are dreading one thing. What if Bayley debuts and gets lost in the shuffle soon after? With the brand split, it might be less likely that happens. Nevertheless, I do see some fans saying they would rather it be Paige so Bayley can debut at a better time and in a better way. If Bayley does debut and gets this match, what are the chances she gets added to the title feud between Charlotte and Sasha Banks? That would be unfair to Sasha. I thought it was unfair to insert Sasha Banks into the storyline that was there between Charlotte and Becky Lynch, and you might get the same kind of situation again where Sasha gets the short end of the stick. I would just like the WWE to see a feud for one of these new women to a proper finish before inserting another new woman.

The WWE could have avoided a lot of this dread if they just kept the feud between Sasha and Charlotte simple. Put the title on the line in a singles match at Battleground. Charlotte retains through cheating. Sasha wins the title at Summerslam. Bayley can debut a little later. Let one of the divas debut from NXT tonight, like Alexa Bliss. Some fans have brought up Nia Jax. Bayley is still the favorite to debut, but it would be nice if she wasn't inserted into the feud involving Sasha and Charlotte just yet. Sasha has enough face partners on the main roster already to tag with her against Charlotte and Dana. There was no great need to treat this like she needs to find someone special. Because you are left wondering what will happen to that person she does find. If she gets lost in the shuffle, that is something to complain about. If she ruins Sasha's push, that is something to complain about. Let's see how that plays out.

As for the winner of the match, it would be a shame to have a debut or return and have Charlotte and Dana win. The only way I can picture the heels winning is if it is someone like Paige that gets picked. I will say Bayley debuts and the face team wins.

Brock Lesnar Vs. Randy Orton For Summerslam 2016

There was a time I would have said Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton would be a dream match. They faced each other during Brock's first run in the company, but that was before Randy Orton broke out as a top guy. The match has been made for Summerslam next month. Is it everything I hoped for?

So far, it doesn't feel right. The WWE just made the match and it is going to happen. Randy Orton has been out with an injury for months now. I am not even wondering about Lesnar possibly injuring him again. I just don't like that there was really no proper reason given for this match.

You see this kind of thing in MMA all the time. An opponent is named for someone and they just do some interviews and trash talk to build up to the match. You sometimes spend a whole bunch of time talking about a match and getting hyped for it, and then it only lasts about a minute.

You have seen the WWE do this kind of thing for special events for Brock Lesnar. They would just name an opponent for him and Brock would go on to beat the guy. This is a PPV. Summerslam is one of the WWE's biggest PPVs of the year. I don't have a problem with them doing this for WWE Network special events, but when you are trying to sell a major PPV, you have to do better than just that.

What is the feud I would go for with Brock Lesnar? Lesnar vs. Wyatt. It was the feud they were going for earlier in the year. It got ruined. Bray Wyatt is back from his injury. Just have him finish goofing around with New Day at Battleground and have him face Brock Lesnar for Summerslam. There is already a story there. There is unfinished business there. I would feel more hyped for this match than I currently do for Lesnar vs. Orton.

Speaking of Orton, he will be back at Battleground for an interview segment with Chris Jericho. Someone likely has an RKO coming in their future. Orton and Jericho can then have a mini-feud, since Brock is a part-timer and Orton will need something to do when he is not there.

Let's get to the news concerning Brock Lesnar that everyone is talking about. He is being investigated for possibly doping. For the sake of discussion, let's do the worst-case scenario and say he is guilty.

I have brought up a few times this year the hypocrisy and double standards when it came to people getting suspended. Titus O'Neil gets a heavy suspension for something he did without any malicious intent and that didn't make the company look bad. Roman Reigns, the new centerpiece of the company, gets suspended for violating the wellness policy. People are now wondering whether his top spot should be on the line.

Brock Lesnar, being a part-timer, is sort of above the law when it comes to the WWE's wellness policy. This isn't like Hulk Hogan making racist comments and the WWE firing him. The WWE will not fire Brock Lesnar over this. But should the WWE hold Brock accountable in some way? Suspend him for 30 days? Lesnar would probably laugh that off. It is no punishment at all for a part-timer like him. He would still make it for Summerslam. Paul Heyman could just carry the feud with Randy Orton until then on Brock's behalf. And don't forget Chris Jericho.

The WWE might just look like hypocrites if they don't do anything to Brock. Their wellness policy does not force them to, but they would still look like hypocrites if they let Brock off without any repercussions. You shouldn't have this policy just for the sake of having it. You should have it to protect your workers from something that can have a negative impact on them and to protect your company's image. If Brock Lesnar was to be found guilty, it would just make the WWE look bad to do nothing to him, especially when Roman Reigns is currently suspended for drug use. Is there a double standard? Is it okay for Brock Lesnar to do it and only get a slap on the wrist, if he even gets that?

Some say this will hurt Lesnar's ability to draw for the WWE. I would question his ability to draw even before this scandal. It certainly doesn't show in the ratings. Does it show in PPV buyrates and subscriptions to the WWE Network? I think more people were interested in the drama between Shane McMahon and The Undertaker this past Wrestlemania than Lesnar vs. Ambrose. I think more wrestling fans buy into the hype of Brock Lesnar than the general audience. In himself, Lesnar will not draw. The WWE needs to create a big situation to draw, like they did with Taker/Shane. Having Lesnar definitely helps the WWE get more media coverage, but if it doesn't translate to many more people being interested in the product, what's the point? Moreover, when Lesnar gets caught in something negative, the WWE is going to have to deal with that baggage.

I would say the WWE should hold Brock Lesnar accountable, if he is found guilty. The WWE might just face negative attention if they let him off without any penalty, while other workers have to face suspension for drug use. Billy Gunn got let go not that long ago after failing a drug test. He wasn't even an active wrestler for the WWE anymore. Brock Lesnar does wrestle for the WWE. Again, they won't fire him, but he should be punished to send a message on accountability. Fine him? Take away his Summerslam match? As I said, a simple suspension wouldn't do. If one of your workers does something to hurt the image of your company, you should do something. And if you don't, that might hurt you even more.

Roman Reigns Suspended

Roman Reigns has been suspended for failing a drug test. As of right now, the main event of Battleground next month remains the triple threat between Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose.

This is really crazy news. It is not unheard of for main-eventers to get suspended for wellness violations. Edge was suspended. Jeff Hardy has his history with drug use. But the centerpiece of the company has never been in this situation. John Cena has not been suspended during his centerpiece run. Same with Triple H. Same with Steve Austin. The WWE just started pushing Roman Reigns as the new centerpiece less than a year ago. And he's now suspended.

I have questioned before whether it makes sense to push Roman Reigns as the centerpiece of this era the WWE is entering. They are starting to be a little more friendly to wrestling. They have not completely changed their ways, but they have made some decisions to please wrestling fans and a lot of the things they do seem to be directed to those vocal fans. A guy like Roman Reigns is just not a good representative for this new direction.

This recent suspension just makes me further believe that this guy should not be the centerpiece. It is only his first suspension, but this is a very PR-friendly era for the WWE, in addition to embracing wrestling a little more. They got rid of Hulk Hogan for racist comments he made in private years ago. Jerry Lawler is suspended  for a recent domestic violence incident. The WWE did the right thing by suspending Reigns, and it is probably unlikely he does it again, but he really is not a great representative for the company. He gets a terrible reaction a lot of the time. There are arguments made that he is not a draw. And now this. You can blame the WWE for some of his issues connecting with smarks and drawing, but the recent suspension is on him. The WWE just cannot keep going in the same direction with this guy.

I am not saying he should be fired. That would be overreacting. I am also not saying he should be depushed to jobbing to Zack Ryder on Superstars. They can keep him in their main-event rotation. Instead of pushing him as an A+ player, just push him as an A player. I think a lot of the people that dislike him so much actually cooled a little last year when he was depushed out of the title picture for a while. It might be for the best.

The WWE is expecting him back in time for the Battleground main event. There is a lot of speculation about when the WWE found out that he failed the drug test. I am not going to speculate. I will say, however, if the WWE knew before Raw this week that he had failed it, they did not handle things very well. They made a main event for their PPV next month and then one of the guys in that match is just not going to show up for a month? Reading Smackdown spoilers, nothing was done to address why Reigns would not be around. It is just awkward. They should have run an injury angle. Are they going to just say that Reigns is suspended for doing drugs? That is terrible from a creative standpoint. Moreover, they are just going to make Roman Reigns look absolutely terrible. There have been main-eventers more popular than Reigns to get suspended and the WWE did not do that to them. The WWE is more realistic these days, but they can't admit the real reason Reigns isn't around. The WWE is in a terrible position. Roman Reigns deserves most of the blame for violating the wellness policy, but the WWE's handling of things may not have made it smoother.

On Recent Injuries

Ryback is recovering from a staph infection. It took him out of the title defense he was supposed to have at Battleground against Miz and Big Show. He is still not back. Did the WWE make the right decision by not having a new Intercontinental Champion crowned? If this was TNA, I could imagine them going on with the title match and giving the belt to someone else. Of course, TNA has a lot of needless title reigns. I didn't actually write about this when it was first revealed, but I was thinking the WWE could insert a face that didn't have a match at Battleground into this match and possibly have him win the title. How about Ambrose? Neville? It didn't come to that. I can understand the WWE does not want to take the title off Ryback probably because they had just taken it off Daniel Bryan due to an injury. Nevertheless, Miz and Big Show just seem to be waiting right now. I probably would have gone on with the match and crowned a new Champion.

Nikki Bella is apparently injured. That is why her match with Becky Lynch did not happen on Smackdown. Is that supposed to be some kind of excuse as to why no diva match happened on Smackdown? It is no excuse. How hard is it to do some kind of promo to get yourself out of the match you advertised and into another match? They had Becky Lynch vs. Brie Bella for Main Event. They could have put that on Smackdown. The Bellas are heels. Heels backing out of matches is not uncommon. Brie Bella could have done a promo and set up her match with Becky Lynch on Smackdown. If the WWE is serious about the diva division, they have to put better effort into still featuring them properly even when their centerpiece gets injured. If they do not, it isn't hard to imagine that the diva division will collapse again. Centerpieces not working out is what led to the collapse a lot of fans got sick of this year. As far as Nikki Bella dropping the title early due to her injury, I don't think they will take it from her. They are trying to have her break AJ Lee's record.

The most gruesome injury from the WWE this week goes to John Cena getting his nose broken by Seth Rollins on Raw. Cena's good looks is one of the things that keeps him as popular as he is with the ladies. Seth Rollins busted that up. There is still plenty of time until Summerslam, so the WWE will probably not change their plans for Cena. The build to Summerslam will be altered. The WWE might want to protect Cena a bit. If nothing else, this adds more heat to the feud. Aside from holding the WWE Championship, did Seth Rollins really hold any advantage over John Cena? Seth Rollins at least looks a little more dangerous now. There is something there for Cena to overcome, if they plan to have him win. The WWE can take a negative and turn it into a positive with this injury.

Kevin Owens Vs. Cesaro

One of the first rumors you might have read after Kevin Owens lost to John Cena was that Owens did not have anything for Summerslam scheduled for him. The dirtsheet writers may have been a little quick on the draw with that. It had not even been one week since Battleground. Summerslam is going to be 4 hours, which means they will need matches to fill it up. Moreover, you have seen wrestlers in the WWE recently that you would not expect to get lost in the shuffle experience just that and not have PPV matches at times. That is not Kevin Owens. Not right now. He has a feud with Cesaro.

You can say this feud between Kevin Owens and Cesaro was building even before Battleground. They had some exchanges, including being part of a triple-threat match that also involved Rusev on Raw. Kevin Owens has attacked Cesaro before. Cesaro is now clearly a face and Owens is still heel. No title on the line, but that is not necessary. This is looking to be a good midcard feud.

Another thing to note about this match is that it features two guys wrestling fans love. A lot of these fans expect these guys to be pushed better than they have been and will complain about it when they aren't. Regardless of which guy wins this feud, I would expect these fans to be happy. Cesaro and Owens are sure to put on a great match.

Bray Wyatt And Roman Reigns Gain Allies

Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns at Battleground had a screwy finish, but no one seems to be making a big deal out of that, as compared to certain other matches I have talked about recently. Luke Harper got involved to help Bray Wyatt. Roman Reigns is also not alone. Dean Ambrose is there to help him.

There are rumors of Sting getting involved, but I am not even going to bring that up further. Just focus on this now turning into a tag feud. I do not like it. There was a personal, heated feud between Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns at one point. It did start to get stale in the last few weeks, but the WWE had an opportunity to try to make it fresh again. They inserted one of Bray's former henchmen. Okay. They still could have kept this a personal feud. Just treat Luke Harper as another obstacle Reigns has to get through to get to Bray Wyatt. Instead, they are going the route of a tag feud. The Shield and The Wyatts had a big rivalry years ago. This is a little taste of that. Some fans might like that, but I still feel they are ruining the feud between Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt. This is still a feud for the faces to win, but they could have had a great gimmick match between the two at Summerslam.

I always say Dean Ambrose is a guy that should not get lost in the shuffle. He has a purpose now. Nevertheless, I think they could have found something else for him to do. Now that Orton/Sheamus might be over, they could have developed some kind of feud between Sheamus and Ambrose. Ryback is out for a while. How about putting Ambrose against Miz or Big Show? Make the feud for the Intercontinental Championship a four-way feud. There were options.

Lesnar/Rollins Gets Spoiled

Cena/Owens was not the only match at Battleground to end in a manner that many fans did not like. Brock Lesnar was destroying Seth Rollins and closing in on the title. And then The Undertaker came back. The match suddenly did not seem important anymore. Taker/Lesnar is more important than anything else heading into Summerslam.

One possible issue was how the WWE would pull this off without making The Undertaker look like a heel. He waited over a year for revenge? He's mad he lost cleanly? He's going to help Seth Rollins, a heel, retain the title? It all sounds like the making of a heel turn. Of course, The Undertaker is a legend and won't get booed easily these days. Regardless, it might matter to some wrestling fans that spend hours contemplating this stuff. The Undertaker showed up on Raw to say his piece. It seems he was fine with the loss, but annoyed with how Brock/Heyman kept bringing it up. I think you can buy that. The WWE could have done a better job building up to that, but it is a reason for Taker to want to face Lesnar again.

But what if they had Lesnar win the title from Rollins, THEN Taker came out to ruin his moment? That sets the match up at Summerslam to be for the title. Would it be nice for The Undertaker to get one last title run before he retires? It would not have to last long. Just have Sheamus cash in the night after or have Taker drop it at Night of Champions. Thing is, Taker/Lesnar does not need the title for it to be the main event of Summerslam. Think back to when The Undertaker and Edge faced each other at Summerslam 2008. No title on the line. But it was still a bigger match than Triple H vs. The Great Khali for the World Championship. The WWE can build a stacked card by having this be a non-title match and having another match that is for the WWE Championship.

How about the guy who is still holding the WWE Championship? So much for all that talk about whether the coal will turn into a diamond. If that was still relevant, Seth Rollins definitely failed. He was an afterthought at the end of the night on Sunday. He does not look good. And it seems the WWE is running with that.

Enter John Cena. He put himself over at the expense of Seth Rollins. While the top Champion is getting cheap wins, a midcard Champion is stealing the show. Seth Rollins vs. John Cena would be great for Summerslam. It really seems like they are stacking this Summerslam to be Wrestlemania-like.

Kevin Owens Loses To John Cena, Again

Kevin Owens won the first encounter with John Cena. He won cleanly. The reaction from some fans was a bit much. They acted like this was something huge. Some felt this was a changing of the guard. Cena won the second match, but Owens still looked good after the loss. The third match, which was for the United States Championship at Battleground, was won by Cena. And Owens tapped.

There was once again a bit of an overreaction to what happened last night. Some fans are saying that Owens has been buried. Not only did he lose to Cena twice in a row, he tapped out. I have seen some fans say Kevin Owens should never tap. Well, he did. I think he'll live. I didn't think Owens still had the momentum to deserve the title. Having him lose is no big deal. How about having him tap? Did they need to do that? It should not be surprising that Cena would get a submission win over him. Many guys have tapped to John Cena. Even legends have. For the sake of not stabbing some fans in the heart, it might have been better to let a Super AA end the match.

Where does Kevin Owens go from here? One more shot at the United States Championship? If so, they should probably add Cesaro and/or Rusev into the mix. I can say no one wants to see the same match four events in a row, but this series between Kevin Owens and John Cena has connected well with fans. Regardless, add in some extra bodies that may hold a legitimate claim to a title shot and have more momentum. If they do not keep Owens against Cena, that might open the door for him to feud with other guys that need someone to work with. Dean Ambrose is a face that should not get lost in the shuffle. He should not be stuck as only a tag partner for Roman Reigns. A feud between Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens could be good.

Switch to John Cena. He is still holding the title. Is it even necessary to bring up whom he should feud with next? Does he even need a feud? He has this open challenge going on. Can they just stick with that? Of course, Summerslam is coming up. They are not likely to just do open challenges with Cena right now. The reason I bring that up is because I do not think they can balance Cena's open challenges and regular feuds properly. I never see anyone saying the WWE has "botched" things. They are loving the great matches and Kevin Owens getting this push. But you have a lot of Cena's open challenges ending by DQ when the guy he is feuding with interferes. On the other side of that, the guy he is feuding with might look like an afterthought or lose momentum when Cena is being pushed to the limit by some other guy. That is what I feel happened with Owens recently. Call it a side effect of the way they are booking John Cena as U.S. Champion. Many fans love it, but there are issues it causes. It might have been better if they had just ended the title reign last night.

Brock Vs. Seth At Battleground 2015 & Possibly More?

When the WWE first made it official that Seth Rollins would defend the title against Brock Lesnar, I was looking forward to see how the WWE would have Rollins step up. He had been booked as a weak WWE Champion. Would he finally turn into that diamond? Instead of continuing along that path, they went backwards and have continued to treat him as a coward that needs The Authority. Of course, his help has now been once again removed. Rollins has once again alienated himself from his partners, attacking Kane himself on Raw this week. Does that really give Rollins the momentum heading into Battleground? Seth Rollins with no help vs. Brock Lesnar. The odds are still against Seth.

Who wins? The outcome will probably not benefit anyone. If the WWE really wanted to help Seth Rollins look like a real star, they would have him look good against Brock. The story of this match will probably be Seth acting cowardly and Brock looking like a beast until shenanigans happen. Even if Seth retains like that, how does that really help him? And what about Brock regaining the title? That didn't work out as well as it could have last year. I wouldn't be surprised if the WWE does it again, but I would say it is an overrated idea that Lesnar getting the title back is best for business. It would help if it isn't a long reign. Regardless of all that,  I will say Rollins retains this Sunday.

Sheamus and his briefcase will be around. Will that play a factor this Sunday? I don't think it should. Sheamus just doesn't seem like a big deal. I can only imagine him ending up like Sandow. If the WWE wants people to really buy into him, they need to do more with him. If they do decide to use him now, it can be a convenient way to get the title off Lesnar, should he beat Rollins. Again, I just do not buy Sheamus as worthy of being WWE Champion again.

Will anyone else be around at Battleground? There are heavy rumors of The Undertaker being there. That is relevant to the title match. Brock Lesnar was the man that ended Taker's undefeated streak at Wrestlemania. Will The Undertaker come back for revenge? It seems petty. It does not seem like what Taker would do, as a face. Would they turn him heel? If he is going to be involved in this story, it might be either to cost Lesnar the match or set up a feud with Lesnar after he beats Seth Rollins for the title. The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar at Summerslam for the WWE Championship. That sounds big. There are also rumors that Sting will be around. Is the WWE planning to start the build for a feud between The Undertaker and Sting?

This is the kind of thing that feels like a big summer angle. The WWE needs something like that to help their ratings. But there is something to keep in mind. Go back to this year's Wrestlemania season. The WWE had feuds going for both The Undertaker and Sting, as well as John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar, and pretty much all their available stars. And ratings were mediocre. All the ratings leading up to Wrestlemania were at the level you would expect from football season. The ratings boost did not show up. Will trying it again help ratings? The Undertaker should help, especially if he shows up more frequently than he did during Wrestlemania season.

John Cena Vs. Kevin Owens & Bray Wyatt Vs. Roman Reigns At Battleground 2015

When the feud between Kevin Owens and John Cena started, Kevin Owens was the NXT Champion and John Cena was the United States Champion. But it wasn't about titles. And the feud felt like it was above titles. It was the top guy of NXT at the time going against the top guy of the WWE for a decade. Owens picked up the first win. Cena got the second, although Owens still remained looking strong.

That brings us to the third match. This time, the United States Championship is on the line. Kevin Owens, moreover, is no longer NXT Champion. I do feel this feud is now less impressive. It isn't really because Owens lost his title and now wants John Cena's midcard title. The development has just been mediocre in recent weeks between these two. Owens is starting to feel like a midcarder. Cesaro has been elevated more in recent weeks than Owens. Even Rusev looked impressive in how he almost beat Cena this week. With the WWE making all these guys look impressive like that, Owens is left looking like a guy that walks away from matches, screws other guys that look like they can beat Cena, and has not really been that threat to Cena in recent weeks that he appeared to be when he first beat Cena cleanly.

Should Owens win the title? There was a time I believed Kevin Owens would be the perfect choice to take the title off Cena. He had the credibility. But the WWE has just not been great with him recently. I would say Cesaro deserves it more. Of course, you can have Owens win the title and drop it to Cesaro. I just feel it would be bigger if Cesaro beat Cena cleanly for the title. I do not think Owens should win the title. As far as what the WWE is likely to do this Sunday, I think they will have Cena retain. Momentum is on the side of Kevin Owens. That usually means the other guy wins.

The feud between Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt is another one that seemed so heated a few weeks ago. It seemed like it might get personal. Since then, the development has been poor. Most of this feud is now just Bray Wyatt ambushing Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns obviously turned the tables on Raw this week. It seems like a waste of Bray Wyatt's gimmick and potential. In other words, this is like most Bray Wyatt feuds.

Who wins? Bray Wyatt is simply there to put over Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns will win this feud. The question is whether this feud will go on beyond Battleground. If it does not, Reigns wins this Sunday and moves on to something else. If the feud is going to continue, you can image Bray Wyatt winning or some kind of indecisive finish, like both brawl their way to the back for a double countout. That should lead to some kind of gimmick match for Summerslam. Sounds good, but the WWE really needs to do a lot more to keep this feud interesting, if they extend it. Simply having Bray Wyatt distract Roman Reigns or ambush him is not intriguing anymore. I don't think the WWE can pull off an extended feud properly. I would rather the feud end this Sunday. Nevertheless, I would not be surprised to see an indecisive finish to prolong it.

Sheamus And Orton Feuding

Sheamus and Randy Orton had some issues even before Sheamus won the briefcase. The feud has continued even after that. You have two former World Champions going at it. Beyond that, is there anything worth saying about this feud? It is pretty boring.

Who should win this feud? Randy Orton is above Sheamus in the WWE hierarchy. He is also the face in the feud. However, Sheamus won the briefcase. If they are really serious about building him back up to be a credible Champion, a victory over someone like Randy Orton should help. Of course, there have been a lot of instances of Mr. Money in the Bank losing a lot. The main reason you can say Sheamus does not need the star building is because he has won World titles before. He has won the Royal Rumble. His momentum does not seem to be there, but he has credibility. I would say they toss Orton a bone and let him win this.

Should Sheamus cash in at Battleground? I will bring that up when I talk about Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar. But as far as cashing in goes, if Sheamus were to cash in around now, how likely is he to win it? Does he seem like a guy that would win the title right now? I don't think so. Seth Rollins has not been the greatest WWE Champion, but Sheamus feels like a boring midcarder, which is much worse. The WWE really needs to do a better job of making Sheamus intriguing.

The same can be said about Randy Orton. This is a dry time for him. I think now would be a good time to pair together two main-eventers or upper-midcarders and let them get the tag titles. Teams like that should not dominate the tag division on a constant basis, but having them win the titles now and then might make title matters exciting again. Look at John Cena and the United States Championship. A lot of fans are praising what is going on there. The situation is not great because it is the United States Championship. The situation is great because John Cena is involved. The WWE will push him well. The tag division is overrun by jobbers. The WWE does not do a good job developing teams prior to winning the titles, they do not let them hold the titles long enough to get great, and then they give the titles to another team that has not been developed well. It doesn't really matter who wins the titles at Battleground. Things will be mediocre. Pair Randy Orton up with another top performer that the company cannot push well right now and let them have a run with the tag titles. They don't need to do open challenges like Cena, but I am sure the fact that two top guys are holding the titles will improve matters in the tag division. It should freshen things up.

Making The Diva Feud More Complicated

The story you had in the diva division was The Bellas, who are heels, cheating to win and pushing their weight around. Paige, the face in this story, was trying to get support against them. None of the other divas wanted to do it. The direction this storyline would go in is obvious. A diva debuts from NXT to side with Paige. Simple.

The WWE has decided to make things even more messy. They have paired Alicia Fox with The Bellas. That was not necessary. They have also brought Naomi and Tamina back into the picture to wrestle The Bellas. Again, they are just messing up the story they were already developing. All these face/heel turns are not necessary.

If the WWE wants to give these other divas something to do, they could do it without adding them to the storyline involving Paige and The Bellas. Have Alicia Fox feud with Natalya. Have Naomi and Tamina feud against Natalya and Emma. Some people might say that they had to bring Naomi and Tamina back into the picture because Paige is busy with Tough Enough. No, that is not an excuse. Just have this other diva feud they could have been developing get the spotlight those few nights Paige will not be used. The Bellas do not need to be featured this much, especially when it is resulting in the storyline they were building getting more complicated than it has to be. And as far as the idea of needing to put Naomi in the mix because of the WWE Network special coming up, this isn't a major event, so I would not have had it influence the long-term storyline that matters more.

I have seen some fans speculate that the WWE is dragging things along without debuting anyone from NXT because they want to extend Nikki Bella's title reign until she beats AJ Lee's record. Once again, that is no excuse. I do not care if that is really the WWE's logic. It is stupid. The diva match for Battleground would be a simple tag match between The Bellas and Paige and her new partner. Summerslam would be Nikki defending against that new diva. Have the match end in some kind of indecisive finish. That leads to a rematch at Night of Champions. Nikki drops the title there. And she still gets the record. There is no need to drag anything out. The WWE had just enough time to work with to build a proper feud that made sense and still got Nikki Bella the record, if they care about it so much. There is still time to work things out like that, but the WWE has gotten very sloppy with the development.

This would not be the first time the WWE has gotten sloppy with the storyline development in the diva division. They did it last year with AJ Lee and Paige. It had looked like they had pulled the trigger on Paige's heel turn. But the WWE seemed to take a step back and pulled a "frenemies" thing that just didn't run smoothly. You also had the mess with The Bellas. They recently talked about it. There was supposedly going to be a 15-minute match between AJ Lee and Nikki Bella. I doubt the WWE seriously would have gone through with that. Paige and AJ Lee didn't even average 15 minutes in their PPV matches. I find it hard to believe the WWE would let Nikki Bella and AJ have that much time. As far as Brie Bella's mediocre heel turn to side with her sister again, I can cut that some slack when I think about it. They are sisters. Regardless, still a lot of sloppiness and inconsistency. It is nothing personal to one diva. It is not even personal to just the women. There is also sloppiness in the men's division. I am always bringing up the inconsistency with The Authority angle. And yet, this diva storyline they had going on seemed very simple and had the potential to still intrigue. The WWE has just made it more complicated than it needed to be and might be hurting that potential.

John Cena Vs. Kevin Owens: Part 3

I have seen fans say that the Battleground card is shaping up to look like what you would want the Summerslam card to be. I can agree with that. One of those matches that might make you feel that way is John Cena vs. Kevin Owens. This time around, the United States Championship looks like it will be on the line.

Go back a step. Kevin Owens won the first encounter, but Cena took the last match they just had. You can say Cena won the match, but Owens won the night. They did an injury angle for Cena.

There was some talk that Owens should not lose so soon. Well, he did. It does not have to be that big of a deal. What will really determine if the WWE made the right decision is how they handle the next match. If Owens is the guy they want to take the title off Cena, then that loss he just took is no big deal. Owens would win the next encounter and likely the rematch after. No harm in letting Cena get one win in that kind of feud. If Cena retains the title, then the WWE could have handled things better, in my opinion. They could have let Owens win the previous match to make it seem like Cena really had met his match. It's just a better story. It builds up to a title match where the odds look against Cena. Even though he did win last Sunday, the odds might still look against him with the injury angle, depending on how they handle it. I just think putting the odds against him by having him take two consecutive clean losses to Kevin Owens would have been better than the typical injury storyline.

Winning the United States Championship might also make it easier for Kevin Owens to stay relevant on the main roster, especially after losing the NXT Championship. Something else that might save him from getting lost in the shuffle is possibly joining The Authority. If the WWE does follow through with separating Seth Rollins from the stable, that will create space for someone else to be in the group. I have seen some fans bring up the idea of Owens joining the group. But that is an issue for another day.

Lesnar Vs. Rollins At Battleground

Seth Rollins has moved on from Dean Ambrose and now must give Brock Lesnar his rematch for the WWE Championship. This match will happen at Battleground next month.

A few years ago, you had the "A+ player" and "B+ player" metaphors being used. Triple H brought up a new one on Raw. What happens when coal faces extreme pressure? Will it be crushed into dust? Or turn into a diamond? I like that one. Will I start discussing whether certain wrestlers have turned to dust or a diamond or might turn into either one if the pressure increases on them? I don't know. I might. It's the idea that you can't tell the worth of someone only in situations where things are going their way. How do they react to adversity? How about extreme adversity?

I have brought up this idea with Rollins before. He just doesn't seem like he is ready to stand on his own. Even after he won the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania, he didn't seem to feel like a true top star. The WWE has taken away his sidekicks recently and made it look like he has to do things on his own. The usual tension within The Authority is back. I hate that angle. I didn't like it when they did it with Randy Orton so soon after the stable was formed. But at least the WWE is trying something to make Seth look like he can stand on his own.

Brock is back. Is this the big summer angle the WWE will do? Brock Lesnar once again gunning for the title? I would hope they do more than that. Regardless of the outcome at Battleground, Brock will likely still be around for Summerslam. I cannot imagine them developing anything too great for him this summer. Ratings were mediocre during Wrestlemania season this year. Will they be just as poor around Summerslam? Or will Lesnar actually provide a boost?

Brock Lesnar Vs. John Cena & Seth Rollins Vs. Dean Ambrose

No surprise as to what the main event of Summerslam is going to be. Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman came back on Raw and Brock will get his title shot against John Cena. And I think it was the best choice, even if it was a little obvious and spoiled. Some fans say that this match should not have been for the title. What would have been the point if it was not for the title? The Authority wants to take the title off Cena. If they had done that at Battleground, mission accomplished. Cena would get his rematch. Brock Lesnar would then screw over Cena in the rematch to set up the big match between the two? There is more hype to it when the title is on the line. Will Brock win? Too soon to talk about that.

Some were saying they should  put the title on Rollins at Battleground and have him feud with Ambrose or Reigns. That plan cannot work so well when Ambrose is always attacking Rollins. What did happen at Battleground with Seth Rollins? No match. He just brawled with Ambrose. That upset a lot of fans. They were really looking forward to this match. This is the hottest feud going for them. I still don't care too much for it. Nevertheless, I don't like the idea of the WWE not having some kind of match. You could have had them both get counted out and have it turn into a huge brawl that would last throughout the show. It would still build up to Summerslam. Obviously, no one is going to riot over how the WWE chose to do things. The feud isn't over. It should lead to an intense match at Summerslam, which will still please many fans.
