Dean Ambrose Wins It All

Dean Ambrose won Money in the Bank. Seth Rollins would win the WWE Championship back later in the night. Dean Ambrose would then follow up by taking the title from Rollins. All three members of The Shield held the title in one night.

I usually criticize the WWE for taking too long to pull the trigger on certain things. This is obviously not one of those situations. If anything, I would have waited a little while. Build it up and tease it a little more. They had that one segment last week on Raw, but it might have meant more if they had those kind of segments after Dean Ambrose had won the briefcase. I am not saying they should drag it on all the way to Wrestlemania next year. I am definitely not saying take it beyond Wrestlemania. But they could have had Dean Ambrose cash in and win next month. That would still leave time to have The Shield triple threat for Summerslam. And even before he won the title, they would have been building up the this feud the whole time for Summerslam.

The Money in the Bank briefcase is one of the most interesting angles the WWE runs every year. When will the guy with the briefcase cash it in? Will he be successful? There is potential there for some drama and anticipation. No drama right now. Ambrose won it and successfully cashed it in the same night.

It is true that Kane won the briefcase and successfully used it that same night in 2010. Thing is, they had two winners of a briefcase that night. Miz still held on to his for a few more months. There was only one briefcase on the line last night.

In the end, it is no big deal. All three members of The Shield have won the WWE Championship. Fans will soon see the triple threat they want so bad. All these guys will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. They might even be inducted again as a stable. But how long until Roman Reigns gets the title back?
