The Wyatts beat Team ECW at TLC. That was not too shocking. That was followed by another brutal match the next night on Raw. This was an Extreme Rules match. The Wyatts once again won.
Should the WWE have let the ECW guys win that match in Philadelphia on Monday? That is ECW country. The Dudleys, Tommy Dreamer, and Rhyno are all over 40. It's not like they need the rub. But it might have been a nice gesture. It might have been a nice moment. As I have said before, these ECW guys are not as legendary in the WWE as someone like The Undertaker, who has gone over Bray Wyatt twice this year already, but Raw might have had another nice moment if the ECW guys had won.
Then again, maybe it is for the best that The Wyatts look strong again. The story of Bray's career on the main roster has been looking strong against people at his level and below him, then being used to put someone over. Sprinkle in some periods where it seems creative has nothing for him and those times he has lost feuds and moved on to another like nothing happened. These old ECW guys were definitely below him. Perfect group to put him and the rest of his guys over.
Where will The Wyatts move on to? Whenever Bray Wyatt is looking good, you have to wonder whom the WWE will feed him to. Roman Reigns in an eventual title feud? There really aren't many top stars around. To make matters worse, Bray Wyatt has already feuded with a lot of the top stars on the roster. Randy Orton is injured. Are there another four guys for The Wyatts to feud with as a group? I doubt the WWE goes with The Wyatts vs. Roman Reigns and his pals. If the WWE has no long-term plan, those ECW guys might end up putting over a stable with nowhere to go after.

ECW Reborn In TNA
This was a good segment. It had heart to it. This was not an invasion or attack, like Nexus is doing. However, it would be interesting to have the TNA guys play the heel role. In any case, this ECW angle should see some former ECW talent make appearances, beyond those we have seen already. The fans want Sabu. Depending on how TNA does this, it may be done with more class than the WWE's ECW return.

ECW Meets TNA
Dreamer, Rhino, Raven, and Stevie Richards attacked Abyss. Other wrestlers and officials then joined into the mix. Some sided with the attackers, who are all from ECW fame, and others tried to fight them off. The segment ended with Dixie Carter saying she was the one who asked the ECW guys to come. Not too horrible. It still leaves the question, "Why would you do that, Dixie?"
I have read some people compare this to the Nexus attack, saying it was better than what WWE did. I watched the attack with that in mind. I will say that the attack is somewhat in the same class, but I would not say it is better. The Nexus attack was a lot more intense. Moreover, Taz was ruining the ECW attack a bit by not acting completely shocked by it. He is an ECW guy himself, so that may play into the future, but it ruined the moment a bit. The way the WWE commentators acted sent a better message. The TNA attack seemed too much like a common brawl. The Nexus attack was a destruction. When they did brawl with WWE guys, those segments lacked the appeal of what made the angle great, the intensity. You pretty much just have Nexus getting beaten down in the brawl segments and running when things get tough. That is not what their destructions have, and it is their destructions that draw viewers. To that person who thought TNA did a better job, I say not yet.
Even though I am saying that the TNA angle is lacking things that made the WWE angle great, I am not putting it down. TNA should not be trying to copy WWE exact move by exact move. They have to do their own thing. If they want to play the WWE's own game and outdo them, that is something else. That does not mean they are copying them to the letter. For what they are doing, I like it. WWE took 7 (8 if you count Daniel Bryan) rookies and made them look like a big deal in one night. That is not what TNA is doing. TNA is pulling on the history of ECW, on already established stars. This is more comparable to ECW return angles in WWE, not to Nexus. Still, I am hoping TNA can make it their own. Judging by the spoilers I read for next week, they take a good step in that direction.

Dreamer's Value To TNA Runs Deep?
Assuming this is all true, this is great. Tommy's use just in terms of kayfabe would have been limited anyway. He is not a huge draw by himself. Even an ECW reunion would not be a massive draw by itself. It would depend on what they did. Nexus has probably been more extreme over the last few weeks than WWE ECW had been in the final months. Point it, it is good news that Tommy Dreamer may have a say in the direction of TNA. He knows what wrestling fans want and has been in the business a long time. I wish him luck.

TNA Has Another Former WWE Talent
Tommy Dreamer. That is your surprise. He is now in TNA. Obviously, I do not predict anything great for TNA because the ECW legend is now there. However, it is interesting to note that Dreamer is another WWE talent who defected to TNA after leaving the company somewhat on his own terms. He had a final match with Ryder on ECW. He lost, but he wanted to leave anyway. He now shows up in TNA. Why would he go and do something like that? Money is not everything. Respect and fair treatment mean more. The WWE may have been close to releasing Dreamer after ECW ended anyway. At least he got to leave there on his own.
I am glad to see him still in wrestling. He does not need to win titles, but I am sure he will not be treated exactly like the WWE treated him.
