The heel team won at Money in the Bank. But the story did not end there. Natalya turned heel and attacked Becky Lynch.
The big question is, did they really need to turn Natalya heel? The WWE has been known to do turns all over the place with their women's division. Does this fall into that category? Is it one of those heel turns that should leave you scratching your head?
I do not think so. There is a lack of heels in the women's division. Emma got injured. Dana Brooke was paired with Charlotte, but Dana is not that great in the ring. Naomi and Tamina are injured. Maryse and Lana are eye-candy periphery divas. They won't be pushed seriously in the ring. Yes, Maryse is a former Diva's Champion and Lana has gotten in the ring recently, but they do not have the credibility to be pushed seriously and are better off in the periphery.
There is Summer Rae. She may not be great in the ring, but I don't really see anyone bashing her as hard as Eva Marie gets bashed. I think Summer Rae is underutilized. She should be getting a secondary women's feud. While Charlotte feuds with whichever women over the title, let another face have a minor feud with Summer Rae.
All things considered, I can understand the heel turn for Natalya and will not bash it. It is a little creative depth in the women's division. That is something they need. It will probably not go far for Natalya. She will probably just be used to put over Becky Lynch. But it is still something for her to do and something else to talk about in the women's division.
