R-Truth and Goldust have a lot in common. They both have unique goofy characters. They have both been a part of some interesting tag teams in the past. And both are no longer seriously pushed these days.
The WWE has been having these segments where Goldust is trying to form a team with R-Truth. If nothing else, the segments at least have some comedic worth. It gives these guys something to do at a time when injuries have hurt the product.
What if the WWE does pull the trigger on these two as a team? They probably will do it. But will they go far? There are a few teams with comedy gimmicks. New Day have a comedy gimmick. Social Outcasts aren't exactly serious heels. I doubt R-Truth and Goldust will take the tag titles. They might be one of those teams that fade out very easily, like The Dudley Boys. They might end up like Curtis Axel's push last year where he was imitating Hulk Hogan. He was getting depushed even before the Hogan controversy popped up. Nevertheless, a bit of creative interest with these two is better than nothing.
