At last year's Wrestlemania, you had a battle royal for the Diva's Championship that was just tossed together in the final days before the big event. There was no great development there. Battle royals are not personal feuds. That was the first time this title was defended at the big event, but it was not the best situation.
Just a few months ago, you had two major diva feuds going on. You had Paige and AJ Lee feuding over the title and The Bellas and Stephanie McMahon involved with each other. You could complain about bad acting and stupid storyline development, but you had creative depth in the diva division and the WWE was featuring them very well.
The situation right now is in between those two periods I just talked about. The main diva feud is between AJ/Paige and The Bellas. It will be a tag match for Wrestlemania. This tag match is not worthy of Wrestlemania. This is something you would expect on a Raw. This match does not even feel like a climax in this feud. It doesn't feel like any important moment in this story. It just seems like a filler match. The development is better than what you had for Wrestlemania last year, but the WWE was actually doing a better job with the diva division a few months ago. But #GiveDivasAChance, right? That has been brought up as an element in this feud. It might as well have not been. It feels weak. The protest is essentially dead. You are just beating a dead horse at this point.
A lot of fans would rather have seen a title match. Nikki vs. Brie vs. Paige vs. AJ. You easily could have had this match a few months ago when the two feuds you had going on started to mix. The WWE did not go for it then. Building up to it now would have been great. Any chance the WWE changes plans to create some type of title match? If it does happen, it will be entirely up to the WWE. There is no real pressure from fans to change anything. The protest really is dead.
