Natalya teamed up with her former Hart Dynasty partner, Tyson Kidd, to take on Zack Ryder and Eve. Of course, the heels were really just there for the benefit of the faces. And no Beth Phoenix in Natalya's corner?
Natalya teaming with Tyson Kidd was most likely just a one-time thing, for now. But what I want to point out is how easy it would be to split up the Divas of Doom. A few weeks away from each other, and they can be slowly phased out. Their split can occur without much attention and hype at all, unlike what happened with LayCool earlier this year. That shows the difference right there. LayCool was a centerpiece team. The Divas of Doom are two credible jobbers. Women like that don't get the same hard pushes as the centerpiece. Even when it appears they are, it is usually meant to build them up to put over the centerpiece and never lasts long. Is this the end already for Natalya and Beth Phoenix?
I don't see any good reason to split the team right now. You will probably see them together again in the near future. But recent use of the two as a unit, or lack of using them as a unit, illustrates what the WWE thinks about pushing them to be the same kind of team in the diva division that LayCool were. It shows how the team can end without much hype at all. At least Natalya might still have Tyson Kidd to team up with again. On NXT?
